Net2Printer is to printing, what instant messaging is to Email.
Net2Printer is a software only solution to Internet printing. The Net2Printer infrastructure combines
aspects of peer-to-peer communications, network server technology, and universal document formats.
This infrastructure is maintained by Net2Printer so that the end-user only has to learn to use a very
simple-to-use software program. By utilizing the computer and printer resources of the Internet,
Net2Printer brings real-time Internet printing to the every-day computer user, allowing users to
print documents, and even do peer-to-peer file transfers.
Sending Documents
Individual and businesses who want to print to others’ printers install the Net2Printer
software. Users can then File | Print from any windows application to an entry in their Net2Printer
ID book. The software establishes a connection to the destination computer through a peer-to-peer
connection over the Internet, enabling document printing and peer-to-peer file transfers.
What if the recipient doesn’t have the Net2Printer software? Simple, they print to “A New
User” entry in their ID Book, fill in a simple form with the recipient’s email address,
and the software sends an email with a link to download the FREE receive-only version.
Each unique printer name, and the status of all Net2Printer recipients, is monitored by the
Net2Printer servers. Each time a Net2Printer user delivers or receives a Net2Printer document,
a user authentication process occurs using the unique printer names identified by the user
during registration. Each unique Net2Printer address identified in the sender’s Net2Printer ID
Book can optionally create a specific printer for people to whom users print to regularly.
Receiving Documents
Individuals and businesses that want others to print to their printers, install the FREE
receive-only Net2Printer. Net2Printer recipient software
gives users total control over access to their printers
by enabling them to pre-approve and filter printing sources eliminating spam and junk mail.
Once the Net2Printer recipient software is configured, there is no other user
interaction required to receive Net2Printer documents. Net2Printer monitors the
Internet for documents sent to your unique Net2Printer address and prints the documents
based upon your user-defined configuration.
