IPP Disadvantages
Static IP Addresses: Printers and printer servers require assignment of
static IP address in order to take advantage of Internet Printing Protocol (IPP).
Heavy Infrastructure Investment: Internet Printing Protocol (IPP) requires a heavy
investment in IPP software and hardware infrastructure.
Technical Knowledge Required: Requires technically competent network
administrator to manage an IPP network.
IPP Compatibility: Requires IPP capability for both the Sender’s and the
Recipient’s infrastructure. IPP compatibility is required for computer
operating systems, printer servers, and printers.
Net2Printer Advantages
Dynamic IP Addresses: Net2Printer implements printing over the Internet
using both dynamic and static IP addresses. Print to the entire universe of
printers in real time via the Internet.
Inexpensive: Net2Printer software enables real time Internet printing, i.e. sending
and printing of any document in real time via the Internet. No significant hardware
infrastructure is required by either the Sender or the Recipient.
Easy to Use: Net2Printer software is easy to set up and easy to use.
No Compatibility Issues: Documents created by the sender are printed at
the Recipient site through a “Print” command regardless of infrastructure,
software, printer drivers, or file compatibility and other Internet Printing Protocol
(IPP) issues.
