Email Disadvantages

No real-time printing: Document resides on ISP or Recipient Email server until recipient accesses, downloads, opens and prints the document.

Recipient Intervention Required: Email printing requires recipient intervention to open and print the document.

File Type Incompatibility: The file formats, fonts and applications used to create the document must be the same on both. Both Sender and Recipient applications must be compatible in order for the document to be printed by the Recipient. This creates a need for an Email atlernate.

No Direct Transmission: Email server network creates a greater chance of problematic receipt of the document through server file size limitations, or problems with the Email server network.

Security: Possible virus transmission through Email attachment, so an Email alternate is a must.
